Visit of the Cuban Ambassador

LA VOZ welcomed the Ambassador of Cuba to The Netherlands, Fermín Quiñones Sánchez, in a formal meeting with a Latin touch.

The University of Twente received the Ambassador of Cuba to The Netherlands, Fermín Quiñones Sánchez. The Chief Scientific Ambassador of University of Twente, Professor Dave Blank, welcomed the Ambassador on behalf of the Executive Board. Prof. Blank was accompanied by Prof. Hans Hilgenkamp (Applied Physics and Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology), David Korringa (Director Faculty CTW), and the Board of the Latin American Student Association -  LA Voz.  The meeting also counted with the Ass. Prof. David Fernandez Rivera (Nuclear Engineer), who played an important role contacting the University and embassy and arranging the visit.

The visit began with discussion on research colaboration and partnership opportunities between the University of Twente and Cuba. Later, a tour of the MESA+ and Nanolab was provided to the Diplomatic delegation and participants of the meeting. The visit was finished with a cheerful lunch and Caribbean live music. In that occasion, LA Voz also invited some other students interested in Cuban education and exchanges to join the meeting and have a brief talk with the Ambassador.
